One of the main things to making your next trip smooth is having the right accommodations and being fully prepared for the upcoming journey. Over the past two years we have seen and experienced the good, the bad and the just plan questionable when it comes to places to stay. That’s why we stick with these main booking sites. They offer amazing customer service and protection to make sure you are always satisfied.
We book a stay almost every time we arrive in a new location. We have never had a bad experience with our Airbnb host (thankfully) and if something does happen to go wrong Airbnb will cover you no matter where you are or what time it is. If you’ve never signed up for Airbnb before, you can sign up using our link below. You’ll get $40 off your first rental, and $50 off any Airbnb experience.
Below are videos we have made on specific accommodations we stay in.
Sometimes if you are traveling to a location for longer than thirty days you can book directly with the owner. This is a little bit riskier and normally comes with a downpayment. Most people do this in places they plan to live for six months to a year. If you would like to know where to start looking for accommodation like this we suggest Facebook groups. All the Facebook groups for the Locations below are linked directly under the video of that location.
Seoul, South Korea:
If you are looking to stay long term and don’t mind paying a down payment you can check out this group to rent an apartment directly from the locals.
Penang Property Sale / Rental is a great place to start looking if you are trying to stay long term in Penang, Malaysia.
New York, New York:
NYC can be a hard place to find rentals. This Sublet | Share| Rent Group may be the perfect place for you to start looking.
South Delhi Rentals is a great place to look in Delhi for rentals over sixty days.
El Nido, Philippines:
Dumaguete is the perfect place to live in our eyes. The relaxing beautiful countryside is surely one of the most relaxing places we have visited. Check this local run Rental group to check for accommodations.
When we stayed in Krabi we found the most beautiful townhouse with a shared pool right outside of town. We managed to get it for way cheaper by contacting the owner directly through Krabi / Ao Nang Rental group.
Chiang Mai, Thailand:
If you have heard of Thailand you have most likely heard of Chaing Mai. With its growing popularity, it may be hard to find the perfect place to stay long term. We highly suggest checking the Facebook groups for the most recent listings at a discounted rate.
Mexico City, Mexico
Mexico City was one of the hardest places to find accommodations within our budget. Many of our friends that live there year-round suggest the many facebook groups they offer. The ones we had the best luck with were Mexico City and Foreigners in Mexico City. These have both locals and foreigners in them so you are sure to be led in the right direction.
