February 2, 2020 By Jimmy Huss

Wanhua is one of the biggest districts in the city of Taipei, Taiwan, and also a popular tourist site. Today,  it serves as a commercial center which is flocked by lakhs of tourists every day. Wan Hua Taipei is a historic district, hence, it is full of rich culture and food is one of the star highlights of this place. Here you can savor all the delectable Taiwanese cuisine. To make it easier to explore these delicacies, the district is lined up with tons of restaurants, cafes, and street food stalls. If exploring the food culture of Wanhua district is one of the things to do in your Taipei itinerary, then this post will certainly help you make you tour an indelible one. Here I have compiled a list of some of the best places to eat in Wanhua district. Enjoy the list!

Table of Contents

Modern Toilet

Indeed a must-visit place to enjoy a delectable time with some Taiwanese food is Modern Toilet restaurant. Well, the place has a unique concept (or we can also a theme) to lure all food lovers. Located at Ximending Shopping Street, Modern Toilet is one of the most preferred restaurants for all those who have an appetite for the unusual. They serve your food in a miniature toilet, however, it’s just a concept, nothing serious. It’s all about visual rather than taste. However, the taste is also the talk of this place. They have both styles of toilets, squat or sit, to serve you food so that no one feels left out. The restaurant is a little pricey so make sure you arrange your transportation and budget to control your cost of living.

Jiang Hong Beef Noodle Stand

Before explaining anything about this place, let me tell you one thing – beef noodles are one of the most-loved things to eat in Taipei. There is so much love for this dish that Taiwan also hosts an annual beef noodles festival where awards are given to those who serve the best quality and creativity. This makes beef noodles a must-try delicacy in Taipei. And the best bowl of beef noodles you can have is at Jiang Hong Beef Noodle Stand. This stall remains open all throughout the day. Hence, this is one of those places where you can head to satiate your midnight hunger while exploring Taipei at night. The best thing about beef noodles at Jiang Hong is that they serve the fresh handmade noodles perfectly dipped in a thick broth that include beef shank. The aroma and taste of the dish at this place has the power to jolt your taste buds awake. Since this place remains open 24/7, you can fit it in anytime on your Taiwan Itinerary.

Mala No Guo is another theme-based restaurant in Wanhua, Taipei. It is built on aquatic-theme and is a buffet and hot pot restaurant in the district. Though it is a lesser-known spot, yet it serves some of the best Taiwanese delicacies in the region. The interior of this place is amazing and gives you a perfect ambiance where you can have fun and quality time along with some amazing Taiwanese food. If that’s what you expect from a perfect eating place,  then you know where to go and how to get there. The hygiene level is also a thing to mention here along with the friendly service. I would personally recommend you try their soups. They offer a number of soup bases ranging from curry, spice, soy milk, kimchi, to herb.
