While vacationing in Bali, if you are looking for a serene nature escape, then quaint little town of Munduk Bali has to be the best bet. Since your search for the Hidden Gems and the best things to do in Munduk Bali, let’s not waste any time on unwanted explanations (as I believe you already know about Munduk, and hence, straightaway looking for the top things to do here) and commence our list. So, here we go!

Getting from Ubud to Munduk Bali

There are mainly two ways to get to Munduk from Ubud – bus and taxi. If you are looking for the fastest means, then it has to be a taxi. You can hire a taxi from your destination in Ubud to Munduk. It would cost you somewhere between 540000 IDR and 670000 IDR.

The route of the bus cuts through Munduk. It would take around 4-5 hours to reach Munduk and the ticket would cost you around 60000 IDR. Not just this, a daily shuttle service also runs between Ubud center and Munduk. The shuttle will pick you from your location at around 11 in the morning and you will arrive at around 1:00 PM. The service of the shuttle continues till Lovina. There are a number of private tour operators that run this daily shuttle service. One of such operators is Gedong Sari Tours and Travel. You can also tell your hotel about the shuttle service. They can also arrange it for you.




Getting from Canggu to Munduk Bali

If you are looking to visit Munduk from Canggu, then there are no public transport facilities available between both the destinations. You can still hire a taxi or can prefer a self-drive to Munduk as the distance between both is not much. It’s just 69 km. The fare of a taxi could range between 620000 IDR and 730000 IDR. However, if your budget doesn’t allow you to spend that much, then I would recommend you getting from Canggu to Ubud first and then from Ubud center consider the above-mentioned way to reach Munduk.

We all know Bali is known for its exquisite waterfalls especially with all the waterfalls in Ubud. Some of the best waterfalls in Bali are located in the Munduk Bali region. This might not seem an appealing thing to do in Bali, but it is indeed. In fact, it is probably one of the most interesting things to do. There is a main road that takes you all the way up to Munduk passes where this impressive Golf Gate is located. For a fact, this gate marks the entrance of a golf course in Munduk Bali. Now you must be wondering what’s so special about this place that people are considering taking pictures here, right? Well, more than the gate, it’s the breathtaking mountain background that is worth stopping to see. In the last few years, this place has turned out to be an important tourist site in the region. To get there, you are required to pay a small entrance fee. would recommend you visit this place early in the morning. This is the time when you can make the most of your time here. But make sure you wear something warm as it will be cold here.

The Munduk village region is not just famous for its natural wonders and viewpoints, it is also known as the home to one of the most beautiful shrines of Bali, Ulun Danu Bratan. It is a temple that was constructed in the Tamblingan Lake region. The stunning location of the temple makes it a popular tourist site in the region along with its serenity. The shrine is located almost in the middle of the lake. The picturesque setting is what attracts a huge footfall of tourists to this place, and hence, you should not waste your opportunity to explore this famous temple in Munduk.

Explore the Viewpoints Around Twin Lakes

If you are driving from Ubud to Munduk, then the route will automatically take you to one of the most picturesque attractions of the region – Twin Lakes. Around these lakes, there are a number of viewpoints that are perfect to visit if you are looking to capture some amazing sights in your camera lenses to flaunt them on Instagram. I can definitely say that these will be some of the most unique and interesting viewpoints that you have ever visited. These tourist spots are not just known to offer some amazing views but are also known to house some other key interests like hearts, swings, nests, and extended bridges. If you have time to visit only one of these viewpoints, then I would recommend you to go for the Twin Lake Viewpoint. Touted as Twin Lake Wanagiri spot on Google Maps, this viewpoint has everything to awestruck you with its serene beauty. Another viewpoint that you also can consider to visit is Pucak Swing and Agro Tourism.

Gaze Upon the Surreal sunrise Views on Mount Batur

If you are up for some early morning adventure, then be prepared to serve yourself with some unrealistic experience at Mount Batur. A 1700 meter hike all the way up to Mount Batur takes you to a beautiful spot. From this very spot, you can relish the surreal view of the sunrise which is a not-to-miss thing here in Bali Munduk. This two-hour hike is not that challenging and only requires a normal level of fitness. If you are vacationing in Indonesia with your consort, then this experience has to be on your Bali itinerary as it is one of the most beautiful romantic hideouts in the Munduk region.

The Munduk region is also quite famous for coffee plantation. Here you can expect to see a large amount of area’s ground covering in the coffee plantation. If you desire, you can choose to visit these plantations as Bali coffee is one of the best of its kind in the world.

Now if you have chosen your set of activities to do in Munduk, it is important to understand that all these cannot be experienced in a single day. You will need a few days to explore them all. Hence, it becomes essential to look for comfortable Munduk accommodation. Just to let you know, there is an excellent selection of hotels in Munduk that fits in every traveler’s budget range. Most of these accommodations are located in the downtown of the village; one being the popular Munduk Moding Plantation. But, if it doesn’t fit in your budget, you can consider other accommodation options like Airbnb. You can expect to get clean, well-maintained rooms, and family-friendly rooms at most of these hotels. However, I would still recommend you do some research and then select the apt one according to your needs and preference.
