As mentioned above, Miraflores is one of the safest districts in Lima not just during day time but night as well. But it is always a good practice to use common sense while vacationing in a new destination. A lot of people can be seen on the streets and you never know about the intentions of each and every one of them. So, it is advisable to be careful about your belongings. 

San Isidro 

San Isidro is one of the best places to stay in Lima. It is often renowned as the financial district in the city of Lima. The neighborhood has many parks and gardens that make this place even more perfect to enjoy a stay in Lima. Some of the most popular attractions like Bosque El Olivar and Lima Golf Club are also located in the San Isidro district. Not restricted to this, the neighborhood also has a number of high-end shopping complexes in Avenida Conquistadores region. Also referred to the ‘Creativity hub of Lima’, this district boasts a perfect mix of both old and new. There are old charming architectural marvels as well as the fancy buildings. They are committed to keeping the region safe for tourists with the help of national police and neighborhood committees. Still, I would suggest you be alerted all the time about your surroundings while staying here.

Pueblo Libre

Pueblo Libre means the ‘Free Town’. It is one of the most appealing districts in Lima which is known to offer a mix of colonial buildings, museums, and historical monuments. This one neighborhood is much quieter than the other regions of the city. But when it comes to where to stay in this region, well, the main square, Plaza Bolivar, is the place where you will have a good number of accommodation options in the Pueblo Libre region. It is one of those regions where tourists can explore the historical aspect of Lima tourism. If you are a history person, then Pueblo Libre is the best place to find accommodation in Lima. This is also one of the ideal places for budget travelers to book their stays as you won’t find any luxury accommodation here in Pueblo Libre.

Pueblo Libre is an old district. The area is not that swanky when comparing it with Miraflores and San Isidro. For tourists, the place is fairly safe. However, just take your necessary precautions and do not wear or keep any expensive gadget with you.

The above-mentioned neighborhoods are indeed the best places in Lima where you can find all sorts of accommodation options to make you stay in the city pleasant. But if they are not enough, well, you have some more options available in the city of Lima. These places are good to book a long-term stay.

Just to let you know, there are some other areas as well that are not great from the tourism perspective but could be perfect options for renting in Lima. These are San Borja, Magdalena del Mar, Lince, and Jesus Maria. In these regions, you can find fairly good accommodation options that would fit best in your budget. 

Surfing

Not just this, surfing is one of the must things to do in Lima. There are a number of options available in the city where you can find some great options close to surfing spots. Along with Barranco and Miraflores, the other best district for surfing in Lima is Chorrillos. Tourists flock to these places all throughout the year in the search of some thrilling experience. And in order to savor it, they choose to book their stay in these areas itself. If you’re wondering why only these places are popular for surfing, it is because they are located centrally as well as on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.

Tupac Hostel, Kurmi Hostel, and Pay Purix Hostel are some popular hostel options near the airport. Not just this, there are also various hotels in San Miguel where you can book a stay. Besides, you can also prefer to book a stay in Callao, which is not a district but a city in itself, to book a stay. Though it is not that safe city like Lima, it has some decent accommodation options to spend a night for your layover. 

So, these are some popular places to book your stay in Lima. A little advice I would like to give is that while booking your stay in any of these places, make sure you compare the prices of your choice of hotel and book the best one.
