The Full Guide To The Best Siquijor Falls

September 3, 2019 By Jimmy Huss

A humble abode of eternal natural beauty, Siquijor is an island located in the Central Visayas region in the Philippines. The island is locally referred to as ‘Esla del Fuego’. Not just this, it is also renowned as the island of fire because of the mystical fireflies that can be seen in an abundance during night time. As per the belief, the island is considered to be cursed and as a result of that, it is said that witches live here. Don’t worry you are safe and will love traveling here. Apart from the intriguing folklore and facts, the island serves as one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. It’s the mind-boggling natural beauty, especially the Siquijor falls that convince globetrotters to plan a tour. In this blog, I have covered all the pulchritudinous Siquijor falls that are worthy of time and effort on your tour to the Philippines.

Table of Contents

  • 1 Cambugahay Falls
  • 2 Lugnason Falls
  • 3 Lagaan Falls
  • 4 Locong Falls
  • 5 Kawasan Falls and Cave

Cambugahay Falls

This is undoubtedly the most popular Siquijor tourist spots. I would personally suggest that if you are on a trip to Siquijor, then be prepared to visit Cambugagahay Falls at least twice or thrice. Wondering why? Well, such is the charm of this place that no one can be satiated with just a single visit to Cambugahaya Falls in Siquijor. This three-tier waterfall has three lagoons that are aquamarine in color. On a hot day, there is nothing divine than just spending a few hours in the refreshing water of the fall. To make this place even more amazing, there are bamboo rafts and rope swings. On the whole, this place is magical in itself.

Cambugahay Falls

Lugnason Falls

What if I tell you Lugnason are falls based on Zodiac signs, would you believe it? Well, believe it or not, but that’s true! Lugnason Falls is the most known of all the 12 waterfalls called Zodiac Falls. To reach here, you must be well prepared with a good pair of shoe to walk a lot. There are different parts There are different paths that take you from one fall to the next. Here at Lugnason Falls, you will get to see a large crowd of tourists, mainly locals. But, they are super friendly.

Siquijor Falls

Lagaan Falls

Though Lagaan Falls is not as big as the other waterfalls of Siquijor, at the same time, it is less crowded that makes it a great peaceful hideout for travelers. The waterfall site also has a natural slide and a rope swing. Plunging into the turquoise blue water is itself is a fun thing to do here at Lagaan Falls. There is also a small climb-through along with several caves. The entry ticket of Lagaan Falls is just for 50 pesos. However, if you are on your bike, you have to 10 pesos extra for parking.

Locong Falls

You would be amazed to know that there are some secret falls that are not even marked on Google Maps and Locong Falls is one of them. Trust me, it is one of the best places to visit in Siquijor. Nothing can beat the serenity of this place. Besides, the mesmerizing beauty is a treat to eyes. Once you are here make sure not to leave any carbon footprints considering the beauty of this place. Also, it’s a request from my side that please do not mark this place on Google Maps as the pristine setting of this waterfall is well-preserved in that way only. Since this place is not known to the outside world, hence, you might find it difficult to reach here. People residing here are super friendly and lovable, you can ask them to guide you to your destination.

Kawasan Falls and Cave

Wondering where to go in Siquijor next? Kawasan Falls is your answer! We have all heard of the famous Kawasan falls in Cebu, well this isn’t it. Its a lot more secluded and some would say way nicer. The star of Siquijor tourism – Kawasan Falls is one of the most beautiful tourist sites on the island. Also reckoned to be a popular romantic spot where you can spend some quality time with your partner, Kawasan Falls has all the charm to connect you directly to nature. And yes, there is a cave under the waterfall which is not that big, but worth a visit. To reach here, you have to walk a narrow path and some stairs for about 10 minutes. However, there are signs next to the road that will lead you to Kawasan Caves.

So, here comes the end of our list of waterfalls in Siquijor. But an important thing to know here is you cannot make your vacation count without an amazing place to stay in Siquijor. Therefore, let’s have a look at the accommodation options in Siquijor Island.

Sometimes you have to look at things from a differ Sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective in order to see what you hoped for. As you travel getting to locations early is a must for me, being able to capture places and people without having the mass crowds is hard if you aren’t an early bird. It took a little bit of waiting to get the right shots but it was well worth the wait 😍⁣

It all started with a culture shock, a feeling of It all started with a culture shock, a feeling of uncertainty, the feeling of something new. For me travel, all started in 2016 when I was first stationed in South Korea. I got off the plane at 11 PM and had no clue what to expect, what to eat, or how to get around or find my way. This was the turning point in my life. The point that forced me outside of my comfort zone, pushed me to be a better person and learn something new. ⁣
⁣
When I travel people ask me how I choose destinations. It used to be based on cost, where I could go that was cheapest, while still allowing me to step outside of my comfort zone. Now it's based on experience, although I was hoping for more vibrant wildlife Costa Rica was a place that allowed me to not only put myself and @jrherrm in a completely new situation but see some of the most beautiful birds we have ever seen. ⁣

I have to say La Fortuna was my favorite place we I have to say La Fortuna was my favorite place we visited in Costa Rica Full of incredible sites, beautiful wildlife, and the sounds of waterfalls and nature around every corner. One of the coolest parts about La Fortuna is right in the center of town is there is Parroquia San Juan Bosco. This is a small church where on a clear day you can see Arenal Volcano steaming in the back!⁣
⁣
The plan is to visit again, but this time I think we will head to deep into the rainforest where things are a little bit more undeveloped and hard to reach.⁣
